Yes. Learn2Communicate Speech Pathologists each have a Medicare Provider Number. You will be issued with a receipt after each of your child’s sessions. You can use this receipt to claim with your private health fund.
Limited Medicare Rebates are available for children who are referred with a GP Care Plan. This includes children who have complex conditions requiring involvement by at least 2 health professionals and/or children of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
If your child has a NDIS plan, you can access speech pathology services from us if your child’s plan is either Self- or Plan-Managed. We will develop a Service Agreement with you prior to commencing therapy with your child. This will outline all roles and responsibilities, policies, a schedule of services and fees.
This will depend upon your child’s age and diagnosis. Some children attend therapy each week with a review appointment scheduled for the end of each school term. Others attend less frequently and complete programmes at home and school to ensure that regular progress is maintained. A schedule of attendance that suits your family life, finances and other commitments will be discussed with you following your child’s initial assessment.
Payment for your child’s speech pathology sessions is required following each appointment unless otherwise organised with Karen Trengove – Director Learn2Communicate. Eftpos facilities are available. Cash, Cheque and Direct Deposit payments are also accepted. All clients receive SMS and Email reminders 24 hours prior to each appointment. Cancellation charges do apply for late cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice.
